![]() It’s possible General Hospital decided to kill Franco off and just give Howarth a fresh start as someone else in Port Charles. Others have never been able to get past Franco’s horrible, dark history. Howarth is obviously a talented performer who’s been able to win over plenty of fans with his quirky charm. In 2013, Howarth switched to playing a Franco recast and has received mixed reactions ever since. Howarth came to General Hospital in 2012 as Todd Manning – a character who made the jump from One Life to Live. Naturally, never say never since daytime dramas can get pretty wacky, but it makes more sense to perhaps bring back Howarth as a new character. When Franco gasped for Liz to tell the boys he loved them and then declared his love for her as well, it felt like a very final “Friz” farewell. If it’s some sort of setup, it’s hard to believe Franco would put Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and her kids through something so brutal. There’s always a chance for a soap death to be undone, but this one could be awfully tough to explain. ![]() The real question is: How can Franco come back from a fatal gunshot wound that sent blood gushing everywhere? It was a gruesome scene that seemingly left no room for doubt about Franco’s demise. Of course, we have to consider what the future holds for Howarth and his character. Howarth is going to donate 100 percent of his profits from his shout-out vids and work toward helping with the hunger crisis in the U.S. While Howarth takes a break from working, he intends to do Cameo videos and raise money for Feeding America. However, Howarth will be taking a hiatus from GH, so this is a temporary exit rather than a permanent goodbye. The General Hospital star talked about being in good hands with the writers, though nothing’s yet known about where the story goes from here. So, like everyone else, we’ll just have to wait and see how Roger Howarth makes his return.General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) may be gone for now, but his portrayer’s time on GH isn’t over. Maybe if Peter believes that all the valuable evidence that Franco had against him and Drew Cain “died” with him, he’ll slip up, make a mistake, and land where he deserves. In our opinion, though, considering how there are still a lot of unanswered questions left, we think that Franco’s “death” could be an elaborate plan to set Peter up. Whatever it may be, we’re sure that it’s going to be very dramatic. I’ve been in good hands so far.” But the biggest question on our minds now is if Roger will return as Franco – possible in the form of flashbacks or from the grave – or if he’ll make his play as a whole new character. I have great faith in the people who think of these things. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Roger said, “I’m really excited. He promises to return to the series soon. ![]() Instead, the performer is taking a hiatus so as to focus on his work with Feeding America, a non-profit organization that seeks to combat domestic hunger.
